NEWS: Travel Warnings Issued After Bomb Found on Mexican Ferry March, 8th, 2018

Summary: The United States has closed its consular office on the Mexican island of Playa del Carmen, and issued travel warnings, after a bomb was found on a ferry undergoing repairs. The Canadian government has also urged travelers to exercise caution when traveling in the region.  According to the Quintana Roo state government no tourists were put at risk by the device as the boat has been moored more than 500 meters away from the main dock for the last ten months.

This comes less than a month after a bomb exploded on another ferry on the same line killing no one and injuring 25. At this time no one has claimed responsibility for either bomb.
